An interesting Meritking new post tells of the unforgettable seasons of UK’s Premier League football championship, as the new campaign will be kicking off this coming August 17, 2024 up to May 26, 2025. Meritking, by the way, is the nascent online news platform that brings up to the minute global sports news.
Fans will love the fact that the new season will not have the usual mid-season break. That is so because the medical and technical departments deem it better for players to have a complete off-season rest as opposed to running a short break during mid-season. The Football Association (FA) being the governing body of football associations in England and in other UK territories, approved the recommendation to ensure a longer period of rest for the players.
Meritking also reported that the new season’s opening event will see Manchester United kicking off as home team against a Fulham match. Apparently, Manchester United fans are still having a ball over the Red Devils’ impressive feat last season. Crowned as the Premier League champion last season, it was significant because it was the fourth top level championship that United bagged for 4 times in 4 consecutive seasons.
The city council’s team of event planners and organisers lost no time in arranging a closing parade in honour of the Premier League record breakers. After all, it was a feat worth celebrating and commemorating; being the first football club with the most number of championship wins in the history of the Premier League. The special event took place last May 26, 2023, with the Manchester United players in attendance to grace the event with their presence.
The United fans were able to view not only the four Premier League trophies but also the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. The Manchester United heroes rode an open top bus that started at the National Football Museum. The bus wove its way through Deansgate, while stopping at several spots so fans could take photos.
Event Organisers Managed to Pull Off the Parade on the Same Day the Great Manchester Run was Held
Organising the event was a bit challenging since the parade had to be set at 7:30 PM. The Great Manchester Run also took place earlier in the day, which involved a number of road closures. The evening parade gave enough time for Deansgate road authorities to reset the area.
According to Burnage Councillor Bev Craig and Leader of Manchester Council, the holding of the celebratory parade means a lot to the p;d and young fans of the football club, not only in Manchester but around the world as well. Manchester United’s four-in-a-row Premier League championship title is an honour and victory, also for the people of Manchester.
