How to Survive the Super Bowl

So I don’t know about football, I don’t care about football. Anything I glean about sports at all is from facebook or because my best friends and brother-in-law happen to care about it. However, I can get behind the Super Bowl, no not because I live in DC and the Ravens are in it (I think, they are right?). But because it is a party, with fun comfort food snacks and I can always get behind a party! I can ignore the football, hang out with my friends, watch commercials and eat junk food and call me happy, what there is sports on tv? So here is what I propose making in order to survive this sports centered weekend my friends.

Soft Pretzels (bonus only 100 calories!)

My Recipes

Football bites

gimme some over

Fried pizza sandwiches

Diethood

Cinnasticks Copycat

Jam Hands

Beer candied bacon

Super Bowl Snacking

I do not love football. I actually hate Mondays because my facebook news feed is full of status updates I don’t understand or care about and therefore bore me. But I love the Super Bowl!! Mostly because it is all about snacking on junk food, funny commercials, and hanging with my friends, which are things I can get behind! Here is some Superbowl party food I would love to snack on!

Bloomin Brie Bowl

Old Bay Hot Crab Dip

Baked Corn Dogs

Delish

Happy Super Bowl!

Everyone is gearing up for the big game in a few short hours. I’m sure there is cooking and some betting is happening right about now. Whomever you are rooting for or even if you are just watching the commercials, I hope your team wins and you enjoy the junk food!

One of my favorite blogs (I know, weird, it is a food blog, but she puts tons of sweets on there), How Sweet It Is, has these awesome looking Baked Potato Nachos (how clever is she?) plus 25 other Super Bowl recipes (including HoHo Cake)!

OMG, I want to make (ok by make, I mean eat) this cake now!

Martha has 23 Super Bowl wings and chicken finger recipes. Only Martha would know 23 ways to make chicken fingers and wings!

These adorable Super Bowl Cookies are winning a photo contest over on Food.com right now, but what I really want is the recipe! But maybe if you are more creative than me you can figure it out? Maybe little whoopee pies cut out with a football cookies cutter?

Enjoy the game, and the commercials and the junk food! 🙂

Super Bowl Party Inspiration

Like most everyone else on Sunday, I will be heading to a Super Bowl Party. Like probably half of the people attending Super Bowl parties (totally making up my stats here) I couldn’t possibly care less about the Super Bowl, but love the excuse fill up on junk food, plus hang out with my friends and watch the commercials of course.  But really, for me, it’s all about the junk food. So I thought I would offer up some inspiration for your Super Bowl parties this weekend.

Root Beer Barrel Jelly Shots – You will be the host or guest with the best party favor! You can find the easy recipe on Jelly Shot Test Kitchen, which can I just say, most fun idea for a website ever!

Pizza Dip – Dips are key at Super Bowl parties! This dip’s number one ingredient is cream cheese…enough said! You can find the recipe at How Sweet It Is, which I LOVE because she says things like “I put cheese in the cream cheese, because I like adding cheese to cheese. What goes better with cheese, besides cheese?”,which is pretty much my philosophy on life.

Ref Cupcakes – Because I can’t pass up a cute themed cupcake. Find the details on how to make it at Celebrations.

What are you doing Super Bowl Sunday and what are you bringing to the party?
