With all of the lovely weather we’ve been having lately I’ve been itching for spring to be here and stay! Spring means the start of wedding season, cherry blossoms and all things happy! I can’t wait!
Pink table decor: Martha Stewart Weddings/ Tulip bouquet: Wedding Invitations/ Cherry Blossoms: w-weddinginvitations.com/ Blossoms in boots: Kelly Oshiro Events/ Plantable Love Stationary: Stationary Scoop/Rings: Martha Stewart Weddings/ Green Table Decor: Monolo for the Brides/ Poms: Majentadesigns/ Lanterns: Your Best Wedding/ Green Stationary: LilyPad Weddings/ Candles: Martha Stewart Weddings/ Cake: My Sweetheart Bakery/ Bridesmaids: Zenadia Designs
Your invitation or save the date is the first glimpse that your guests are going to get of your wedding. Stationary gives them the first hint of if your wedding is going to be quirky or formal, the color scheme. Your stationary suite isn’t just about delivering the necessary information, it will be your guests window into your wedding and what it will be like. Which is why I love it! You can do so much with your stationary suite and you have so much to choose from. My favorite stationer is LilyPad Weddings, a boutique graphic design studio founded by two sisters (how fun is that?! I want to work with my sister!) and their love for paper, design and weddings.
LilyPad offers several designs which can be customized and new custom designs are always available as well. My favorite is the Georgetown! Their services go above and beyond invitations to the entire wedding weekend making sure every aspect is customized to your theme. Their services include all enclosures, cocktail napkins, monograms or logos, menus, programs, table numbers, out of town bags, escort cards, favor boxes and more. Kristin Regen, President says that she “loves that many couples are now taking that initial concept and carrying it through all of their day-of wedding stationery, making their paper goods a key part of their ceremony and reception decor. It’s especially fun for us to get to design a complete collection where the pieces are all inspired by the same concept, but differ slightly in some way. By playing with small details (ie switching the orientation of the enclosure cards, doing an rsvp envelope in a complementary color, or extracting various small pieces of an overall design), we are able to carry the overall concept throughout, while delivering unexpected surprises for the guest.”

The sisters are located in DC and Austin and also have a sister company, LilyPad Arts for all of your non-wedding related stationary needs. Jen Liljegren, Founder and CEO is the designer behind LilyPad and started LilyPad Arts in 2006 before opening LilyPad Weddings in 2010. LilyPad Weddings is the recent winner of a Wedding Wire Brides Choice Award! You can contact Kristin or Jen for a consultation at info@lilypadweddings.com. Also check out their blog to keep up with these super creative sisters!
I love a good tea party, but you don’t have to be having a tea party these days to be taking advantage of everything tea related. Tea cups, tea stands, tea tins are all used in weddings, engagement shoots, as vases, decor, everywhere you look today. And I love it! I cannot get enough of this trend, I think it is so quaint and pretty and delicate.

Vicki and Mike got engaged last January at the National Zoo in the midst of a snow storm and during the send off for one of DC’s national treasures (at least for a little while) Tai Shan the panda. Mike and Vicki had an attachment to Tai Shan because upon moving to DC, they had their very first visit to the zoo the day Tai Shan was born. They went back to visit little Butterstick (as us Washingtonians affectionately called him before he was named) many times over the years, making Mike’s decision to propose during his going away party perfect! The Washington Post even got video of the big event!
And hence, Vicki and Mike’s adorable engagement session at the National Zoo by Emily Goodstein Photography. Emily is the author of a local award winning blog, Wild and Crazy Pearl, which I love!

I snapped this outside of Baked & Wired, for whom in the DC Cupcake Wars, I cast my vote for very best cupcakes, hands down, no contest!

Did you know that Events to a T has an Etsy store? Well we do! We often make homemade items for our events and when we do so, we offer them on Etsy. Long before I had my own store, I was an avid Etsy shopper and thought it was the most brilliant idea around, and I still do! Whenever I wonder where in the world to find something, I always know I can find it on Etsy. The best part is supporting small business and local artists. Here are a few of my favorite local shops and items I’ve found on Etsy lately.
I adore this love stamp necklace from Lanyapi Designs. It would make a perfect Valentine’s or bridesmaid gift!

What is your favorite Etsy shop?
Everywhere I look there is a couple getting married under a giant tree. I love this new trend, the element of nature, the simplicity and how beautiful the trees can look no matter the season – bare or bloomed. This is a lovely trend.
